Caption Contest V Winner

And the winner is... Anne-girl, with 12 votes!

Mrs. Gibson: Look, it's the ice cream truck, Molly! Let's go get a Popsicle.
Molly: Too late, Mom, he's driving away!
Mrs. Gibson: Noooooo! Come back! I wanted one with sprinkles!

Check back next week for a new contest!

Caption Contest V

A brand-new caption contest is on tap for today-- this time with a brilliant picture from Wives and Daughters (1999) submitted by Beatrix!

Comment with your captions for this picture (they can involve both Molly and Mrs. Gibson or just one of the two) and I'll post a poll next Wednesday.  The limit is two captions per person-- and as always, keep them clean, friendly and entertaining.  Looking forward to seeing your captions!

Winner!

And the extremely late applause goes to... Robyn Hoode!

"To think, Miss Woodhouse, all the time it was your cup that was poisoned!"

Congratulations, Robyn! I'm afraid there's no prize involved in winning a Sink Me! caption contest, but you do get glory and honor from the readers of this blog.  (Start glorying and honoring, everybody!)  A new contest is going up later today, so be on the lookout.

Caption Contest IV

I'm not sure how often I'll be doing this, but I came across a picture today that just screamed "caption contest" so I'm hosting another one!  This rather poor-quality screencap (sorry! I couldn't find a better one!) is from the A&E 1997 Emma miniseries, also known as the brown-haired Emma.

Comment with your captions for this picture (they can involve both Emma and Harriet or just one of the two) and I'll post a poll next Tuesday.  The limit is two captions per person-- and as always, keep them clean, friendly and entertaining.  Looking forward to seeing your captions!

(Note-- if I receive more than ten entries in this contest, I'll choose just ten for the poll so it doesn't become overwhelming.)

I Do Apologize!

...for being so late with the Caption Contest poll! Life has been rather busy for me and I confess it completely slipped my mind.  So, without further ado, the winner of Caption Contest II is...

Miss Elizabeth Bennet of The Age of Elegance... again!

Oh, Mr. Collins and his stupid sense of floral beauty. But then, horticulture was never his forte, was it?

Now for Caption Contest III.  Here is the picture you are all voting for.  Please vote in the poll on the right for your favorite caption! I can't fit the entire text of each caption in the poll, so I've provided the full text below for reference.

Captions in the running for this photo:

1: "O, the hairstyles I suffer..."
2: "Yes, she's a drama queen. I have learned to endure it. *sigh*"
~Victoria

Caption Contest III

Thank you so much to everyone who entered the first caption contest! I am quite pleased to announce that the winner is Miss Elizabeth Bennet of The Age of Elegance, with her caption "Who can we marry off this time?"

"Who can we marry off this time?"
Please be sure to vote on the captions submitted for Caption Contest II, located in the poll at your right.

Now, for this week's picture we have...

Caption Contest II

The rules are all the same as in Caption Contest I, except I've changed one thing-- you may enter a maximum of two (2) captions per customer.  (Doesn't that sound professional? :D)

Caption Contest I

The rules for this game are quite easy indeed.  Write a hilarious caption for the picture below (no more than two or three sentences, please) and post your caption in a comment.  The comment box will be open for entries until next Wednesday, at which time I shall collect all the entries and we'll vote for the winner.  Make sense?

(At this point you are supposed to say, "As if it were crystal clear... my dear!")

Can't wait to see what you all come up with!
