American accent Mark Gatiss. *dies*
But he still says "Americker." There isn't any form of American accent where an R gets stuck on the ends of words ending in A, is there?

Christy,
Around the costal in the state of Maine where I'm from and somewhat in New Hampshire and definitely in Boston area there are quite a few people who change A at the end of a word to the ER sound (such as Pauler instead of Paula, Isaier instead of Isaiah, Alicer instead of Alicia). And many in Maine also often change words ending in the ER sound to have and -ah or -uh ending as in monstah (monster), terrah (terror), Eastah (Easter) and nevah (never). Still America usually doesn't get changed to Americ-ker, at least not that I've heard.

Okay, so I finally looked up Mark Gatiss to see why everyone was so excited about him, and IMDB informs me that he's John Dashwood from S&S08--- why didn't I notice???

Amy,
Yep, red haired John Dashwood in S&S 2008. As a couple others have mentioned Mark Gatiss also is well known for not only playing Mycroft Holmes in the updated Sherlock series but he is also a co-writer for that show.

Oh! Totally forgot about the S&S appearance. He also plays Mycroft Holmes on the BBC Sherlock. How very strange..
