I Promise I Won't Spend This Whole Week Teasing Raoul

(but it IS Celebrate Musicals week over at my other blog, and I'm focusing on Phantom, so everything's themed right now.)

(I have no idea who made this... but it wasn't me.)

The Phobias Workshop

{{Yes, this post originally appeared on Yet Another Period Drama Blog because I'm an idiot and have too many blogs on my dashboard.}} Okay, so this video is completely unrelated to the normal content we have on Sink Me!, but when my dad came across it earlier this week I thought it was too funny to pass up.

Les Mis With Thomas Captions: Part One

The post in which my sister and I compared Les Mis characters to engines on the Island of Sodor proved to be such a hit that it set our wheels turning again... so today we beg to put before you the first in what will hopefully be a series of Les Mis slash Thomas the Tank Engine nonsensicality.  Emphasis on nonsensicality.  This is ridiculous stuff-- if it makes you laugh, well and good, but if it doesn't... well, I don't blame you.

They're Two, They're Four, They're Six-Oh-One...

It all started with this picture I found on Pinterest.  My sister and I, who enjoy giggling over funny Pinterest pictures, then took it to the next level-- what if all the Les Mis characters (or at least as many as possible) were trains from Thomas the Tank Engine?  I present to you, therefore, the Engines on the Island of Paris.

First of all, Enjolras can't be Thomas.  Enjolras has to be James.  With his new red coat [of paint].

Thomas himself will be played by Marius.  With his blue coat.

This opens up the field for Cosette and Eponine as Annie and Clarabel, who follow Thomas-Marius wherever he goes.

Grantaire will be Henry, because he talks too much and has a green coat (the coincidences are freaky, people.  FREAKY.)

Valjean will be Edward, the elderly engine who is nice to everyone and is a bit old-fashioned.

Javert will be Gordon.  OBVIOUSLY.  I mean, Edward even rescues Gordon at one point.  Guys, this thing was MEANT TO BE.

Gavroche has to be Toby.  I don't know why.  He just does.

And, of course, Monsieur and Madame Thenardier are the Troublesome Trucks.  Do I even need to explain this one?

Oh, and Sir Topham Hatt has to be in there somewhere, so he can be Victor Hugo.
The End.

This Is the Kind of Nonsense My Family Comes Up With on Bike Rides

(and we sing it as we ride.  loudly.)

Winner!

My apologies, folks... I said I would post the winner of the caption contest on the 17th and then bam, I forgot about it.  This is definitely the most drawn-out caption contest that has ever been held in the history of the world. Sigh.  Anyways, we have a winner (by a landslide) and that winner is Anne-girl, with her piece of hilarity involving Babysitting and P&P!

HUGE thank you to everyone who participated-- this was definitely our most successful competition yet, despite my negligence in actually posting the results.  Cough.  There were also several very funny entries that couldn't make it into the finals due to lack of space, so keep a lookout for those in our regular content over the next couple of weeks, okay?

Les Mis vs. Phantom: The Trailer

I knew that the West End occasionally holds charity soccer matches in the summertime, pitting actors from one production against those of another, but I had no idea it could be this cool.  (And I am so not a sports fan.  Believe me.)  Last Saturday the current Les Mis cast and the current Phantom cast battled it out for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and someone made a really hilariously epic trailer for the event.  Guys, it's Niall Sheehy and Jonny Purchase and a bunch of other West End barricade boys (those were the only two I recognized though) doing the One Day More box step with a soccer ball and some guy from the Phantom cast (I think it's Peter Dukes but I can't find more detailed info) making Enjolras disappear with his swirly cape.

Oh, and it's all set to Pirates of the Caribbean music.  Just watch it.

Basically This is What They're Saying

You guys, I am so sorry.  I took forever to get this contest finished.  Life got in the way... and also I forgot about it.  Cough.   But hey, here we are now, and things will be okay and all that.  Tomorrow is a bright new day.  Everyone makes a couple mistakes...

...shutting up.

Anyways, you all voted (do you remember? it was a long time ago...) and we have three finalists and now you can vote for the best one.

He's Not Always Mr. Nice Guy

(my apologies to anyone who doesn't find this funny... it's mostly made for the benefit of Anne-girl, Margaret Hale and Marie.)

Finalists!

Fifty-two entries, peoples.  Fifty.  Two.  Entries.

This is the biggest response we've ever had to any Sink Me! contest in the year and a half that Sink Me!'s been running.

Why do I keep saying "we" when I'm the only one running the blog?  Maybe because I like to think of Sink Me! as a community of humorists and not just one blogger collecting stuff and making things and posting them.  Or maybe because it sounds more professional and less narcissistic to say "we" instead of "I."  You decide.

After much deliberation and confusion and delay, I have narrowed it down to fifteen finalists.  Yeah, I couldn't choose ten.  Y'all are too hilarious.  There were so many other entries that I wanted to include, but simply couldn't because the polls would be too big.  So keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks for those pictures to pop up at sundry and random times (not affiliated with this contest).

Without further ado... our finalists, in no particular order!  I've given a title to each picture, and the video that the caption is taken from is hyperlinked in the title.  Some of the creators of these pictures have public blogs-- I've linked to those in their names.
